According to the Office for National Statistics 137.3 million working days were lost due to sickness or injury in the UK in 2016. From this musculoskeletal problems (including back pain, neck and upper limb problems) accounted for 30.8 million days (22.4%). The  ‘HSE Research Report 493’ in 2006 clearly outlines that both early intervention and treatment of musculoskeletal injuries will result in a faster resolution of the underlying problem and, more importantly, a decrease in the chance of reoccurrence and ultimately a reduction in sickness absence.

All employers have a duty of care to protect the health and safety of their employees, however lack of expertise in injury management can allow costly mistakes to be made resulting in increased sickness absence and decreased productivity. In terms of cost a recent survey based on replies from 1,091 organisations across the UK in reference to 3.8 million employees showed that on average absence from work cost these organisations £522 per annum per employee.

Physiotherapists are the most expert professional group regarding musculoskeletal issues with the exception of orthopaedic consultants and with statistics such as these it makes good sense that you put the health and well-being of your workforce in experienced and competent medical hands.

Our flexible pay structure is based on location and the requirements of the particular company and the number of injury referrals. We are registered physiotherapists for the majority of private medical insurance companies including AXA PPP, Simply Health etc.
