Stretching to the point of pain! Is it worth it?

There DOES NOT appear to be any short term advantage in improving flexibility when comparing stretching to the POINT OF PAIN with stretching to the POINT OF DISCOMFORT

🤔 .

.

📝 Both forms of stretching resulted in very mild muscle tenderness but with no evidence of muscle damage 👍.

.

📚 Flexibility was assessed using sit and reach and straight leg raise tests.

.

📝 Both tests acutely increased range of movement and this was still increased 24 hrs later

⏳.

.

👉 However there was no significant difference between the two groups.
